(June 11, 2007) - Aztek Networks, a leading independent provider of Emergency Stand Alone (ESA) switching products, announced today it is partnering with telecommunications distributor Walker and Associates to market and resell the Aztek Networks 5000S ESA switch. Walker and Associates is the premier distributor of network products and solutions to U.S. telecommunications service providers. "We are excited to align ourselves with Aztek Networks to give our customers a truly innovative ESA solution for switch collapse and new access installations," said Walker and Associates' Vice President of Marketing Lisa Smiley. "Aztek is the recognized technology leader in independent and dedicated ESA switches, and we're delighted to partner with a supplier who can provide our customers with reliable and cost-effective solutions for local calling capability and continuous subscriber access to 911 services." "Our partnership with Walker and Associates brings to Aztek Networks a breadth of distribution within the independent telecommunications market that is second-to-none," said Aztek Networks' Vice President of Marketing and Business Development Spencer Punter. "We are pleased that Walker and Associates will be distributing the Aztek 5000S, an ESA switch that allows carriers a range of options for the replacement of legacy remote switches or other new access installations." Aztek's 5000S, the world's smallest Class 5 switch, will be offered to Walker and Associates' current and prospective customer base of more than 1,200 domestic service providers. The 5000S is an ideal solution for switch collapse and allows independent carriers to cost-effectively replace or upgrade traditional legacy end-office switches and proprietary remote switching units. The Aztek 5000S switching device, with patent-pending True ESA™ technology, is the first and only open-standards, environmentally hardened and fully redundant ESA switch that constantly maintains local calling capability and subscriber access to emergency 911 services, even if the connection to the primary host switch is severed. The compact 5000S stands just one-rack-unit high for easy installation in a conditioned end office or within a field cabinet. Aztek's 5000S communicates via the GR-303 communications protocol and will interoperate with any standards-based GR-303 access system. The 5000S continuously monitors the GR-303 signaling link between the access system and the host switch and only becomes active when the signaling link fails. If a failure occurs, the 5000S automatically assumes call control and maintains local calling capability and 911 services for all downstream access systems until the link with the host switch is restored. Aztek Networks' 5000S will be generally available June 18, 2007. About Aztek Networks About Walker and Associates, Inc. |
