(Sept. 18, 2006) - Aztek Engineering announced today that it has changed the company name to Aztek Networks, a shift that reflects the company's evolution into a telecommunications equipment provider. Building on its 20-year history of excellence in providing system design and software products to leading telecommunications equipment vendors, Aztek Networks is dedicating more resources to developing inventive and one-of-a-kind products to better serve independent and rural telecommunications carriers. The company's newest product is the Remote Switch Gateway with True Emergency Stand Alone (True ESA) switching and IP media gateway capability. True ESA is a unique, patent-pending method for constantly maintaining subscriber dial-tone and calling access to emergency 911 services in a purpose built, high availability hardware system that is deployable in a field cabinet. Aztek Networks is the only provider of products using True ESA. The Remote Switch Gateway family of products with True ESA will roll out in early spring 2007. "I am delighted to see the company take the next step in its evolution to a telecommunications equipment provider that directly serves the needs of independent telephone companies," said Steven Bruny, CEO of Aztek Networks. "The new name both preserves our heritage and reflects the new direction of our products and our company." The Remote Switch Gateway with True ESA is a high availability, environmentally hardened and fault tolerant hardware system. All Remote Switch Gateway products are IP ready, allowing service providers to seamlessly switch their network to IP while preserving network reliability. Aztek Networks is the only vendor that can link access systems from multiple vendors, via a GR-303 interface, into a True ESA community at the field cabinet level.
