(Nov. 6, 2006) - Aztek Networks (formerly Aztek Engineering), a leading provider of Emergency Stand Alone (ESA) switching and IP gateway products, announced today that Dr. Joseph Marcus Elder, Founder and CTO, was inducted into The Academy of Distinguished Engineering Alumni at the Georgia Institute of Technology. The induction ceremony took place on Nov. 4th at the annual Georgia Tech College of Engineering Alumni Awards. The Academy of Distinguished Engineering Alumni recognizes alumni who have made significant contributions to their profession, the Institute, or society at large. Individuals receiving this award are widely respected, recognized for their professional and personal success, and actively involved in engineering or management. "I am extremely proud and honored to have been recognized with this award by the College of Engineering Alumni at Georgia Tech. I believe this is award is a tribute to all of the employees at Aztek Networks who have worked hard to consistently deliver innovative products to our customers in the telecommunications market," said Dr. Elder. Elder, who founded Aztek Networks in 1982, earned a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree from Georgia Tech in 1968 and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering degree from Georgia Tech in 1970.
